On the graceful functioning of Umbrella manufacturing unit with hundreds of women and other poor employees at Snehagiri Society, Sri K Karunakaran, former Chief Minister of Kerala was invited. He accepted this invitation of Rev. Fr. Paul Kodiyan and visited our factory. He even congratulated the best employees and coordinators.

Snehagiri Computer Training Centre
Computer Training Centre was started on 11th September 1993. It was affiliated to Indian Computer Education Society in Kochi. Having completed their syllabus, the students were able to attend exams and gain certificates. Almost 50 students completed the course every year. This project helped to bring computer literacy to Snehagiri at the beginning itself.
Snehagiri Readymade Manufacturing Unit
Unemployment was a major problem existing in this region. It aimed at employment generation, women and family upliftment. It started from 11th October1989. The first order received was for Khadi Shirts. Through this project we could put an end to poverty & unemployment in the locality to an extent.
Snehagiri ITC
ITC was started for the industrial training and thereby the empowerment of youth. ITCs provided the same courses as ITIs such as Secretarial Practices, Stenography, Beautician course etc..
Snehagiri Housing Scheme
A safe house to live is a dream of everyone. But it is a far distant dream for the poor. Snehagiri housing Scheme was a project established in 1980, to help the landless and homeless ones. It was really a blessing for the poor in society.
St. Theresa’s Vanithakshemam – Umbrella Manufacturing Unit
It is a sister concern of Snehagiri Society, which aimed at the welfare of women in society. It was started on 14th Nov 1979 and gave training to the rural people. It had wider acceptance at the beginning and many got the job here.
Snehagiri Secretarial Institute
It was established on 1st January 1982. The programme started with 4 English type Writing Machines and 18 students. Later on, Malayalam and Hindi type writing machines were also added to the Course. This course fee was quite reasonable. It gave concession to the students from poor families and assured a bright future. It was a course with great opportunity at that time.
Snehagiri Sesoil Manufacturing Unit
This unit operated in the premises of Snehagiri Society and extracted oil from nutmeg, cumin seed and ginger, which is generally used for medicinal as well as food purposes. It was one of the employment generation projects of the Society.
Khadi Weaving & Spinning Unit
Fr. Paul kodiyan started the programme with 5 hand looms to provide weaving training to unemployed women. In 1985, it got the certificate and recognition of Khadi Commission. It gave employment to many women providing them financial independence. Apart from this a Khadi spinning Centre with 50 charkas was started and gave employment to people. Two Khadi Bhavans were opened in Mala and Thrissur as well.
