Chavara Youth Centre(CYC), is a new initiative of Snehagiri Society which was inaugurated on 7 February 2021. Chavara Youth Centre aims at the holistic development of the rural poor youth by empowering them to fully utilize their innate resources. Our dream is to develop a Motivated Youth fraternity skilled to face competitive exams. Youth who have realized their innate capabilities and morally equipped and service oriented. Visit of Former Chief Minister K Karunakaran
On the graceful functioning of Umbrella manufacturing unit with hundreds of women and other poor employees at Snehagiri Society, Sri K Karunakaran, former Chief Minister of Kerala was invited. He accepted this invitation of Rev. Fr. Paul Kodiyan and visited our factory. He even congratulated the best employees and coordinators.
A Christmas visits to the families of the Special School Students
Our Social work team visited every student of the special school for Christmas 2020 as the children were at home due to the pandemic outbreak. It was an opportunity to reconnect with each child and their families. The students were really glad and excited to receive a Christmas gift from Snehagiri during this visit.
Sneha Cancer Care Programme
‘Sneha Cancer Care Programme’ (SCCP) is a new initiative by Snehagiri Society to support the families of cancer patients. Inauguration of the same was held on 7th November 2020. The aim of the project is to help those families through financial aid for Children’s education, marriage, debt clearance, etc. It also provides counseling support and awareness about governmental and nongovernmental projects for cancer patients.
Visit to the homes of Cancer patients under SCCP
Visiting the cancer patients at their homes helped to understand their family conditions and take necessary action as needed. The patients and the family members underwent counseling to help navigate issues related to this condition such as coping with the demands of illness, family conflicts, grief, etc., all of which can affect the patient’s care.
Old Age Home Inmates Family Visit
The family members of the elderly were requested to visit the Mithralayam home since visits by them were relatively less during the pandemic. They obliged to this kind invitation. This visit helped to know more about the families of our inmates and their backgrounds, making it easier to understand their condition so as to render help in the future.
